Alan King U.K.
Specialities:- "ARTYTECTURE"
Alan King was born in Greenwich, London, in February 1952, and by the age of
eight was already experimenting with perspective and drawing fairly complex buildings.
In 1963, and with Art Teachers who, although teaching the disciplines of art,
allowed students to develop their own style, he was introduced to the works of Dali,
Tanguy and the like, firing his imagination and leading to a study of all the Dada
and Surrealism he could get his hands on. It was at this time he coined the phrase"ARTYTECTURE" to describe the structures he was drawing and painting.
In the early 70’s he exhibited and sold his work at several London shows
and "off of the railings" in Bayswater Road (the "Artist Quarter" in the West End of London).
Only in January of 1999 did he decide to experiment with combining photographs and
Artytecture with the aid of computer software.
The impressive results of this experiment, together with Alan's natural artistic flair and eye for perspective can be seen in the three examples on display.
