does this mean it cannot be displayed?
A. - Not at all, new categories are always
welcome.
Q. - How do I send in my work?
A. - As attachments to an e-mail in jpeg of gif files, together with the title, the size, and most important, the category.
If the images are large they may be sent as Zips.
Alternatively, we are usually able to build a display from your own Website.
Q. - I have my own web site, what are the advantages of
displaying my work with Universal Archives?
A. - There are several reasons displaying your work in
the Universal Archives Galleries.
One, and possibly of most importance, is
that art lovers (and buyers) often have to search through many sites before
finding good quality art. At Universal Archives all art is of a high
standard, and visitors return again and again, to view their own
particular favorite artists work, and to check out new entries.
Two.
Many "Art Display" sites are slow to download, offer small images and do not provide
links to Artists. Our displays are always clear and of good size, and wherever possible we give full descriptions of both the work and Artist
Three.
Visiting a large number of individual web sites can be time consuming, and
few sites get more than a cursory glance.
We encourage visitors by displaying only works by talented and profficient Artists.
Much time and effort has gone into the design of our site to ensure ease of use and speed of
display.
Universal Archives is well publicised, and so
receives many more visits than "home page" or many other "Art Exhibition" style sites.
In our
first month on line (May 2000) we received 264 visits. (average 9 per
day). To date, we have received over 160,000 visits, February (2005), with a frequency of around 100 - 140 per day.
Most Artists will find it difficult to achieve this level of exposure via a normal Home Page.
